| The Callaway Golf FT-i drivers represent a quantum leap in driver design. To exploit Callaway's proprietary Fusion Technology - the superior weight-shifting science developed by Callaway Golf that uses multiple materials in clubhead construction - the design demanded a new shape.
COMPLETE INERTIAL DESIGN Complete Inertial Design (CID) repositions weight to the corners of the clubhead, raising the MOI across the horizontal (IYY) and vertical (IZZ) axes. This produces unprecedented stability for ball striking across the entire face.
- IZZ-AXIS
Most "high MOI" drivers offer stability about the vertical axis (heel/toe). This means the club is most stable when balls are hit across the center of the face. - IYY-AXIS
Less twisting about the horizontal axis (up/down) produces consistent launch conditions for all drives - even those hit high or low on the clubface. FUSION TECHNOLOGY Designed to be the world's straightest driver, FT-i uses patented Fusion Technology that moves weight away from the Center of Gravity. The result is a driver with increased horizontal and vertical stability that maximizes distance with total accuracy.
DRIVER STABILITY COMPARISON
- ALL TITANIUM
460cc titanium drivers have made great improvements in stability and MOI. However, the weight of titanium virtually eliminates discretionary weight distribution, which is available in the FT-i driver. - COMPOSITE-TOP DRIVERS
"Comp-top" drivers distribute some weight by replacing some titanium. However, it is only a fraction of that possible with an FT-i Driver. - CARBON COMPOSITE BODY
Using materials significantly lighter than titanium creates discretionary mass that is distributed to the extreme perimeter, resulting in increased stability and longer, straighter bombs down the fairway. FUSION TECHNOLOGY
- Composite material maximizes discretionary weight away from the Center of Gravity
THE WORLD'S STRAIGHTEST DRIVER? Callaway started with a blank sheet of paper, unlimited by preconceived notions. Their goal - develop the world's straightest driver through a marriage of physics, advanced construction technology and artistry. After years of design, engineering, prototyping and testing, the FT-i Driver has arrived.
OPTIFIT Discretionary weight distribution lets you select an FT-i Driver to fit your swing needs. For example, if you tend to hit a fade, selecting a Draw configuration can help you hit straighter, longer drives. |
