| The M675 Forged Blades feature:
Speed Technology Variable Clubface Hardness - High rebound face, bigger sweet spot, more forgiveness
Induction Heat Treating the clubface rewards golfers for hitting it pure, without overly penalizing them for mis-hits. It's a science unto itself, whereby rapid temperature change realigns the grain structure of the metal. A coil connected to the face's center radiates heat outward, ensuring a measured transition to softness at the perimeter. The distinction in our heat-treating process is the metal itself. The uniform grain structure of Forged Carbon Steel produces a uniform heat dispersion, and thus a more perfect trampoline. One that launches center shots faster (hence SPEED) and farther, while keeping off-center shots straighter, with less loss of distance
Progressive Weighting - Localized CG, Optimal Launch
There's an important difference between a 3-iron and a 9-iron. But there's an equally important difference between a 3-iron and a 6-iron. To achieve the optimal ball flight and distance for each club, MacGregor has localized the CG according to loft. Precision Tungsten Weighting in the 3 & 4 irons creates a low, deep CG, for better launch and forgiveness. The CG continues to progress higher and closer to the face through the set via progressive muscle-back, for maximum playability and control in the short irons.
Mixed Metals - High rebound, long irons and soft short irons, optimal distance and control
Because long irons and short irons perform different jobs, the M675s use two kinds of Carbon Steel within the set. The 3-6 irons are forged from 1045, a "medium-carbon steel" with an ideal combination of strength and sensitivity used to optimize the Hollow-Body Structure for easy high launch and maximum distance. In the 7-PW, a softer, 1025 "low-carbon steel" is used in a solid one-piece construction for superb feel and tremendous shot-shaping capabilities.

Forgiveness with one-piece feel
One of golf's all-time greats once said, "When you hit the ball well, then sensation travels from the face to the hosel, up the shaft, throught the arm and shoulder, directly into the heart." That's the inspiration behind the M675's Front Structure Hollow-Body design. Typically in two-piece construction, the back is connected to the hosel. But to maintain the classic feel of one-piece forged, the 3-6 irons were designed with the face connected to the hosel. So you reap the distance and forgiveness benefits of hollow-body structure, while still staying ture to your heart.
Forged Carbon Steel Uniform metal grain
Shot consistency and pure feel
For players who take their game seriously, there is no other choice but forged. The dense and uniform grain structure of forged makes it repeatable, which is why the M675s offer such a unique combination of shot consistency and feel. It's why a solid shot with a M675 3-iron will always travel the same distance. But the true benefit of forged is unquantifiable. The feel you get from the M675s, as the expression goes, runs directly to your heart. That sweet sensation of pure, perfect contact is what golfers take home with them after a round - and why they can't wait until the next one. |
