Description

The 17-4 stainless steel G10xg irons are engineered with extreme low toe weighting to increase the moment-of-inertia for added forgiveness and consistency. The large, perimeter-weighted head features a new cavity shape and wider sole.

The center of gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launching, lower spinning shots. By creating a new shape for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), PING engineers stabilized the hitting area to produce consistent ball velocity across the entire club face. An elastomer CTP insert helps control vibration for a solid feel.

Extreme Perimeter Weighting

The large, deeper cavity allows more weight to be concentrated on the low toe and perimeter to increase the moment-of-inertia for additional forgiveness.

Custom Tuning Port

The shape and thickness of the Custom Tuning Port (CTP) stabilizes the face and provides discretionary weight which is re-positioned to the clubhead's perimeter for maximum forgiveness. An elastomer CTP insert helps produce a solid feel and sound.

Wide Sole
The wide sole provides forgiving ground impact and contributes to the high launch characteristics of the iron.

Confidence at Address
Offsets are engineered to give golfers optimum performance throughout the set. Long iron offsets are larger to promote greater consistency and forgiveness. Offsets in the shorter irons offer improved control on approach shots.

COLOR CODE
There are 12 PING color codes, each representing a different lie angle. Lie angle is the measurement of the angle between the sole of the club and the centerline of the shaft, PING generally recommends more upright color codes for taller players and flatter color codes for shorter golfers. LENGTH
Length is a determining factor in the distance the ball will travel. PING generally recommends slightly longer shafts for taller players and slightly shorter shafts for shorter players.

GRIP OPTIONS
Ping offers a wide variety of grip styles and sizes to meet every golfer's preferences. Grip size is also an important fitting variable since it affects the release of a golfer's hands through the impact area. Thinner grips tend to encourage the release, which can cause a draw or a hook, or help a golfer compensate for a fade or slice. PING color-coded grips are manufacturered in different thicknesses for different hand sizes. Your hand length and the length of your longest finger are used to determine the neutral grip size, which neither encourages nor inhibits your release.
