Carl Lightfoot (Teaching Professional)
Golf
is more than just a career for Carl who spends hours each week in internet golf
forums, reading books, magazines and watching golf, it is an obsession. This fact shines through in his lessons and fittings. From
2000 - 2004, Carl worked as an assistant professional at Woodcreek Golf Club in
Roseville and from 2004-2005 as a technical/fitting representative for Titleist
and Cobra Golf, who provided him with specialized club fitting training.
Carl's
teaching philosophy is free of gimicks, quick fixes or confusing jargon. He teaches that our individual struggles in golf have simple and sensible
causes which must be identified, understood and overcome in order to achieve a better level of consistency.
Carl
is an Advanced Titleist Fittingworks Certified fitter, a Ping Certified fitter
and has many years experience fitting all of the major brands of golf
clubs. Carl is also certified on the Trackman Launch Monitor, Vector Pro
Launch Monitor and Science and Motion (S.A.M.) Putter Lab.
Craig Wood (Teaching Professional)
Craig Wood is a native to Northern California. At a young age, Mr. Wood played several different sports including basketball, baseball, and tennis, however, it was Sundays at a local 9 hole track with his brother and father that seemed to catch his interest the most. Craig attended Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake and competed on the golf team for three years. After graduating from high school, Mr. Wood had the opportunity to play golf all over the United States and on foreign soil. He has competed in numerous places including Idaho, South Florida, and Cuba.
Craig settled in Sacramento 5 years ago and has been working for Morton Golf since 2003. He has passed his PGA player ability test and is currently a PGA apprentice involved with training from Ken Morton Sr. and Dr. Dianna Wright.
In addition to working in the golf industry, Mr. Wood has given back to the local community. In 2003, he coached the Luther Burbank High School girls golf team, a chance to teach kids with no exposure to the game whatsoever. He also coached the McClatchy High School Girls team to the Metro League Championship in 2004.
Craig's teaching philosophy is "keep it simple." He blends feel and mechanics with strategy in a way that allows the player to see results immediately. More importantly, the results can be easily repeated and improved upon over time. His long and short game strategies are easy to learn and are valuable for those with and without handicaps. Mr. Wood also has extensive experience in club fitting and maximizing the use of current technology to improve consistency and reduce your scores.
Marcus Judge (Teaching Professional)
Marcus
was born and raised on the East Coast of England, learning to play golf
starting at the age of 15. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial
Science but interestingly enough, chose a career as a golf professional.
Marcus
came to the United States
in 1999 when he expanded his British Golf Market Research Company creating its
first international office. In March of 2002, he joined the staff at Haggin
Oaks, worked on his game, and passed the PGA of Americas Playing Ability Test.
He is currently working towards becoming a Class A PGA Member while he is
serving his apprenticeship teaching golf and learning the business of golf. He
has received extensive training in club fitting from most of the major brands sold in the Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop.
Marcus
is known for being a very bright young man, with all the tools to become
whatever he desires to be in the golf business. He is very popular and quickly
building a strong clientele of students. He strongly believes that everyone has
their own individual swing because there is not a Cookie Cutter Approach to
learning the game of golf. He works hard to get to know his students so he is
able to help them achieve success as quickly as possible. When asked about his
style he says, I try to make the learning experience of golf fun while still
holding sacred the traditions of the game I grew up with.
