“This intensely dramatic design incorporates an even larger lightweight, v-shaped, titanium cup face and hosel, so now more weight can be concentrated in the high-density steel sole. This is our best Exotics fairway wood yet.” David Glod, President and Founder Tour Edge Golf
- The cup-face is 25% larger than previous models allowing for even more explosive power and
distance. The expanded titanium cup face’s new v-shaped sole transfers more weight towards the steel heel and toe for a higher MOI, greater stability and improved accuracy. - The lightweight, v-shaped cup face, crown and hosel allows for 60% of the club head’s total weight to be placed in the high-density sole plate for more explosive shots, a higher MOI and greater forgiveness than previous models.
- The titanium cup face and crown is 2x lighter than an equivalent steel cup face and provides driver like sound.
- The heavier high-density steel sole plate is brazed to the titanium cup for permanent bonding without welding.
- Crown thickness of 0.5 mm for a lower center of gravity and improved sound.
- The titanium cup face and crown is computer milled around the edge with a high precision rim. The
remaining high-density steel body is precision cast to include an interlocking channel. The parts are chemically treated, pressed together, and vacuum heat-cured for permanent bonding without welding. - The extremely high CG angle of 39.86° and a CG distance of 38.85mm create angular momentum helping the club square at impact with more force for a quick launch and longer, hotter shots.
- The larger head design (185cc 3-wood) is 11% larger than its predecessor without sacrificing the easy to hit shallow face. The overall larger head volume improves MOI, stability at impact, and distance on off-center hits.
- One of a few titanium hosel fairway woods in golf, the XCG-V features an integrated titanium hosel design that saves an additional 30-grams of weight that is transferred to the high-density steel sole. The titanium hosel also dramatically enhances feel and responsiveness.
- Consistent with the Exotics heritage, the XCG-V has an extremely low spin rate for longer, more accurate drivers.
“It was hard to improve on our last model so we had to do it by utilizing more titanium. The new larger club head and v-shaped titanium cup face improves ball speed especially on off-center hits. The larger cup face and new titanium hosel pushes 50% more weight to the heavy steel sole than previous models. The lower CG and higher MOI greatly improves accuracy and ball speed from all places on the face.” -David Glod (designer) |
